Breastfeeding support right here in Thornton
LatchOn is based at Peak Pediatrics in Thornton, making expert lactation care as convenient as a trip to your pediatrician.
If you are a new mom in Thornton, you do not have to figure out breastfeeding alone. McCall Conkling, RN, IBCLC, sees families right here at Peak Pediatrics, which means you can get professional lactation support without driving across the metro or sitting in a hospital waiting room.
McCall spent seven years as a Registered Nurse, including three years in Labor & Delivery, before becoming a board-certified lactation consultant. She has seen every feeding challenge there is, from painful latches and low supply to tongue ties and babies who refuse the breast after a NICU stay. She became a mom herself and learned that even clinical training does not make breastfeeding easy. That combination of professional expertise and personal experience is what she brings to every consultation.
Many Thornton families deliver at North Suburban Medical Center or the new UCHealth Broomfield campus and come home excited but overwhelmed. The hospital lactation support is brief, and by day three or four, the questions start piling up. That is exactly when McCall can help. She sees families as early as the first week home and can often accommodate urgent requests if you text her directly.
What McCall helps Thornton families with
Latch Assessment & Correction
A painful or shallow latch is the most common reason families seek help. McCall evaluates your baby's latch, identifies the issue, and works with you hands-on until feeding is comfortable.
Weighted Feeds
Wondering if your baby is getting enough milk? McCall uses clinical-grade scales to measure exactly how much your baby transfers during a feeding, replacing guesswork with data.
Low Supply Support
McCall will evaluate your supply, identify contributing factors, and create a plan that may include feeding adjustments, pumping strategies, or supplementation if needed.
Return-to-Work Pumping Plans
Heading back to work is stressful enough without worrying about your milk supply. McCall helps you build a pumping schedule, choose the right equipment, and build a freezer stash.
Prenatal Consultations
Expecting and want to feel prepared? McCall walks you through what to expect, how to set up for success, and answers every question before baby arrives.
Telehealth Follow-Ups
After your in-person visit, follow-up consultations are available via telehealth for $75. Great for check-ins, troubleshooting, and ongoing support from home.
Most insurance plans cover your visit
LatchOn accepts Cigna, Aetna, United, and Medicaid. Many Thornton families have their consultations fully covered. No referral required to book.
In-office consultations are $150 for a full 60 minutes of one-on-one time. If you do not see a time that works, text McCall at (720) 248-7747 and she will do her best to fit you in.
